The Reunification of the Glazier Brothers

"Overall relations between the North and the South have developed in favor of national reconciliation, unity and reunification." -Kim Jong Il (hahahahahahaha)
So as most of you know I was recently accepted to the BYU Marriott School MBA Program. This was great news for our family (the C and E Clan) and the culmination of a lot of effort and prayers. I'm pretty stoked and we are excited for all the opportunities this will provide for us in the future. One of the biggest underlying stories here is that for the first time since 1999 all four of the brothers will be living in the same city. We've had three of us in the same place off and on during the last 10 years but its always felt a little melancholy with one bro out of the mix and probably on a mission. Feeling this excited reminded me of the preview for Step Brothers:
Dale Doback: Can we turn our beds into bunkbeds? Brennan Huff: It will give us so much extra space in our room to do activities! Dr. Robert Doback: You're adults, you can do what you want. Dale Doback: This is the funnest night ever!
I remember a lot of nights that felt just like that growing up, minus being adults. There was always something fun happening and someone to laugh about it with. I don't know how our wives would feel about bunkbeds, but I'm sure there will be plenty of fun times. Also, from what I've heard this would set up a tri-fecta of Glazier Graduates in the Spring of 2011 (Dustin, Todd, and Myself). It won't be the same as when we were young but I don't think I could have planned it any better if I had tried. So get the Nerf Guns, Video Games, and Illegal Fireworks ready for the greatest reunification since Kaiser Wilhelm and Otto von Bismarck.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

Well, I guess I'll be the first of the kids to write here. I was actually just looking at the Graff's Family blog and it looks like they really have a good time keeping up with each other's lives through their blog. I hope we can evolve into this blog into a medium of family news, laughter, and general awesomeness. It's crazy to think how far we've all come in our lives and how quickly we have each embarked on new paths to begin our families. Christmas break was a fun time to get us all together and remember just how intense our personalities are when heavily concentrated and packed together in a snowed-in house. And I must say, Mom did an awesome job of out-doing herself with cooking, decorating, and basically assuming the role of Martha Stewart. I'm still trying to work off all the food I ate, but it was worth it and Lisa and I had such a good time.

But alas, with a New Year comes new begginings and new routines. I have started up school again and am absolutely loving it. I think my Biology and Diving class are my favorites so far. My diving class is a blast because all we do is just swim for an hour and we get credit for it. Boo ya! As for Biology, my professor is one of the highest rated teachers at BYU on www.ratemyprofessor.com and really makes taking Biology an enjoyable experience. So far Physics is entertaining, but essentially kicking my trash. I hate the physics lab - Essentially it consists of sitting in a room for 3 hours, with my 3 lab partners who have never taken Physics before and ask dumb questions while I end up doing most of the problem solving and they just copy it down afterwards. It's almost like high school all over again *shudder*. Oh well, I guess college isn't ALL about fun, but I'd sure like partners that knew what they were doing.

Lisa is doing well. Her job at Spinal Interventions continues to undermine her intellect, however she keeps a smile and works hard and helps pay all our many bills and expenses. I guess you could call her my "sugar mama" :) . We are enjoying our married student ward, after finally finding the right one (took us 3 tries). It's definitely different from a family ward, but unfortunately is too much like a singles ward. Basically, it's a singles ward with babies. Lots and lots of babies, and there are more every week it seems like. No callings yet, but we're not too worried about that, all in good time.

That's about it for now, but hope to see more of you posting news/pictures and we will try to do this as well

FHE

Ok, Mom and Hilary have hit on a fun family communication plan here. Best way to figure it out is to use it, so here goes.
Today I was the concluding speaker in Sacrament meeting. The topic was Family Home Evening. Well, knowing that the other three speakers before me would have already saturated the basics, I decided to talk more about making our homes a haven against Satan and the evil influences of the world and to address the larger responsibility of parents to be teachers. I used a First Presidency Message from Pres. Kimball from August 1982. Of course, to make it interesting I threw in several personal stories and examples of our FHE's and Family Councils over the years. I think it went well and I got my message across.
So to you adult Glaziers who are away from our safe haven, start now to establish the "traditions" of FHE each week in your lives. There are great blessings that come from following this admonition of the prophets, in fact, as I said today, the lives you are living, the choices you are making, the close loving relationships that we have and the way you are following the Savior ARE the great blessings promised to mom and me when we started holding FHE and Family Councils as newly weds. Thank you all for being such awesome, righteous children. XOXO  -Dad

The Glazier Family is BLOGGERIFIC!

We did it! We have a blog all for ourselves! It took us a little while but we figure since 3/5 of the kids are married we probably should start something that can connect all of our lives together with photos and news. Colin was complaining that he had been out of the loop on some important family happenings and it got me thinking that we have a lot going on and we all like knowing what the latest and greatest is. Now this blog will be your one stop shopping for Glazier family fun and news! Everybody can post and blog! All the cool kids are doing it...come join the fun!
